"Sing a New Song"

Dear Friends,

As the psalmist says: “Sing unto the Lord a new song!” That is what we will be doing in a way on Sunday, August 13th, when we will welcome our new Director of Music, Adista Wightman. Adista is an accomplished musician having preformed in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. I am looking forward to working with Adista and the gifts she will bring to the music ministry here at First Presbyterian. Welcome aboard, Adista!

If you come to the church next week (July 31-August 4) you will hear new songs coming forth from all the kids in our Vacation Bible School: Hero Central. As of this writing we have the largest pre-registration ever and a great crew of teachers and helpers lined up. It should be great week!

Our voices will be raised in song as we praise God in the beauty of Promised Land State on Sunday, August 27th for our annual Promised State Park Worship Service and Picnic. The service starts at 11AM at the Falls Pavilion and will be followed by a great picnic. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and beverages will be provided and you are asked to bring side dishes. Please sign-up after church. Also, don’t forget to bring a chair to use for the service. There will be no worship service at the church that Sunday.

There are numerous other activities around the church in the weeks ahead that I hope you will participate in, including our 16th Annual Golf Tournament and Family Day at Woodloch Springs on Sunday, September 10th. Please see further information in this newsletter.

The summer is flying by and I hope you are taking some time to enjoy being with friends and family in the beauty of God’s creation.

See you in church!

Grace, Peace, and Love,

Pastor Bill
