"Joyful News"
Dear friends,
“Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth!”
Those joyful words from Psalm 96 could not be more appropriate for First Presbyterian Church. We are pleased to announce our new Director of Music, Matthew Rupcich. Matt is an accomplished choral conductor and educator with vast experience with adult and children’s choirs. We are very excited to have Matt on our Ministry team. He will begin here on November 1st. Welcome, Matt!
We are also excited to announce the date for the dedication of our new addition, The Jackie Wolf Wing of Blough Hall, made possible by a generous gift from the Wolf family. We are also going to acknowledge the wonderful improvements to the Roger and Helen Blough Education and Fellowship Hall in memory of Howard Wentz, thanks to another wonderful gift from the Wentz family. The Service of Dedication and Open House is scheduled for Sunday, November 18th. Please watch for further details.
Our fall season is off to a great start! Thanks to Oressa Campbell Miller’s leadership, our 17th annual Golf Tournament raised over $6,000. for the local Head Start Program and our Children and Youth Ministry Fund! Also, a special “thank you” to all who have stepped forward to help with our new Rotation Sunday School program for the children of our church. Everyone involved, from the teachers, helpers, and children, is having a wonderful time. Thanks to our new addition, we have room for more children. So, help spread the news!
The Holiday season will be here soon and we have much for which to be thankful! Again, quoting Psalm 96:
“Sing to the Lord, praise his name!”
